92-Year-Old ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fan Liz Won Big On The Show

Wheel of Fortune tends to be the chaotic cousin of the most erudite and together Danger! But just like Danger! sometimes loses itso sometimes nice things happen Wheel of Fortune. Case in point: On Tuesday’s show, an old lady and long-time fan of the show got the chance to appear on the show and win a lot of money.

By Decision maker, Liz Wright, 92, and her son KC took part in the game show’s “Home for the Holidays” week, where couples compete to win the big prizes. KC kicked off the show by praising his mother.

“She spent the first 88 years of her life in Oklahoma with my father. For 62 years, they traveled the world, around a hundred countries and seven continents. He passed away, she moved five years ago to be with me,” KC said. “And I say, you know, for the first 18 years of my life, you taught me how to use a spoon, how to do everything, how to watch Wheel of Fortune. And then, over the last five years, I’ve been able to try to give something back to him.

The couple then started kicking each other, so much so that Pat Sajak, host about to leave joined them on the podium to tell them they were having a “wonderful evening.”

The Wrights even excelled in the bonus round, when Liz pocketed an additional $40,000 after solving a somewhat tricky puzzle whose solution was “Drizzled Honey.” In addition to their cash winnings, they all won a trip to Antigua.

At the end of the episode, Liz said she was so Wheel of Fortune fanatic that she had been watching since “day one”. That likely means she’s been a viewer since the show began in January 1975, although the current version didn’t begin until September 1983, when Sajak and co-host Vanna White took the reins.
