The match between Hamburger SV and Hannover 96 was interrupted. The reason: Hannover fans displayed a banner showing Martin Kind in the spotlight. At first they refused to remove it. After a long break the game continued.

Once again, fan protests against the planned entry of an investor into the German Football League (DFL) caused matches to be interrupted. Even abortion was possible. Before the start of the second half of Hamburger SV's second division match against Hannover 96 on Friday afternoon, some fans in the HSV northern corner managed to fix heavy bicycle locks to the posts of a goal. The locks could only be removed with an electric cutter. Objects also flew into the field.

Cross sign against Martin Kind: match between Hamburg and Hannover is interrupted

A few minutes after referee Sören Storks started the match for the second half and Dennis Hadzikadunic (47th minute) scored the goal for HSV to make it 2-3, the match had to be interrupted again. In the block of 96 fans you could see banners with the inscriptions: “CVC and Blackstone, puppets of Saudi Arabia's sports washing”, “Coherent action against personified threats of violence” and “Stop play now”. Three portraits, each with a scope, were also displayed, including the head of the 96th's chief, Martin Kind.

After 96's captain Ron Robert Zieler, coach Stefan Leitl and the entire Hannover team could not achieve anything with the fans, referee Storks invited the players to the locker room. The 96 fans then removed the banners. The referee announced through the stadium announcer that he would cancel the game if further action was taken. After an interruption of almost 40 minutes, the sign was lifted and the match could continue.
