The American singer wants to use the time she won to travel the world – and possibly make new music.

NAfter six years, it's over for Katy Perry. The singer announced that she will no longer appear as a member of the jury in the series “American Idol”, the American model “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. “I want to travel the world and maybe make new music,” Perry said Monday on the talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The California native joined “American Idol” judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan in 2018. Perry told moderator Kimmel that the end of their time together was coming, and the musicians knew when they surprised Perry in the recording studio.

Perry, 39, rose to fame in 2008 with the title track “I Kissed A Girl.” With more than 140 million records, he is now one of the most successful musicians in the United States.

The singer, who lives in Santa Barbara, California with her fiance Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy Dove, is one of the most famous venues for performing at the Capitol. Perry was invited to Washington, D.C. in January 2021 to welcome President Joe Biden at his inauguration with her song “Fireworks.”
