Marco Neppe's departure from FC Bayern has been announced for weeks. According to current reports, the separation has already concluded.

He FC Bayern and Marco Neppe are now going their separate ways, as Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg reports. Consequently, the contract with the technical director has already been terminated. The 37-year-old has already left his office on Säbener Straße, where Max Eberl has allegedly moved. The Munich-based company has not yet officially confirmed the separation.

Neppe leaves Bayern after almost ten years

Neppe joined FC Bayern as a scout in 2014 and has been steadily rising in recent years. In December 2021 he was promoted to Technical Director. Neppe was long considered the right-hand man of former sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

The former professional was often called a “transfer whisperer” and has significantly influenced or initiated numerous transfers over the past ten years. Among others, Neppe was involved in the signings of Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Mathys Tel. Neppe was also part of the transfer working group in the summer of 2023 and played an active role in the transfer of Harry Kane.

According to Plettenberg, Neppe received several national and foreign inquiries after his time at Bayern. He still maintains regular contact with many Bayern players. This includes Joshua Kimmich, who really values Neppe's opinion. Neppe is also said to maintain a friendly relationship with Leon Goretzka.
