An idol you can touch: Tyreek Hill

Miami's Tyreek Hill shows young people what makes a soccer star. But working out with one of the NFL's best pass catchers is expensive fun, and a photo costs more.

dThe star of the night arrives late. It was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Two minutes before half past five, Tyreek Hill arrives on the artificial turf field behind the stadium's main stand on Bornheimer Hang. In the central circle of the side field he is received with enthusiasm by the children and young people gathered there. As soon as he reaches them, they form a group around him, jumping up and down and repeatedly shouting his nickname: “Cheetah, Cheetah, Cheetah!”

They had previously completed a half-hour warm-up program under the direction of American coaches. The trainers explained in English how to complete the exercises and commented encouragingly on each successful execution. “Good job!”, “well done”, echoed on the football field, where mainly German comments are heard.
