More than 200 waiters and waitresses participated in the competition. The two kilometer long route passed through the well-known tourist area “Le Marais”. The start signal was given in front of the magnificent Paris Town Hall.

The event took place for the first time in 1914. According to organizers, including the City of Paris and the Hospitality and Industry Union (UMIH) Paris Île-de-France, the revival of the tradition aims to improve image around four months before the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. .
