EA 43-year-old woman had a fatal accident while driving home from a carnival party in Sonneberg, Thuringia. The mother of four wanted to go home when she fell into the river for unknown reasons, police said on Sunday. It was only after an extensive search involving Bavarian police officers and a canine search team that the woman's lifeless body was discovered in the river on Sunday morning.
The police suspect that the woman fell into the river from a relatively narrow gravel road. Because of the brick wall and the speed of the current, it is difficult to get out of the river, said a spokesman for the State Police Operations Center. Several media outlets had previously reported the accident.
