The construction company Tecklenburg GmbH recently declared bankruptcy. As already announced, several jobs will be eliminated as a result.
The construction sector is in a phase of uncertainty and not even the best-known companies are spared. As confirmed by the Kleve district court, the well-known construction company Tecklenburg GmbH declared bankruptcy. Home construction, once a mainstay of the company, is experiencing a drop in demand that seriously threatens the company's liquidity.
The payment difficulties affect not only Tecklenburg GmbH, but also Tecklenburg Projektentwicklungs GmbH and two other project companies in Dortmund and Ratingen. The situation is especially dramatic for affected employees: a third of the active population faces the loss of their job.
The market crisis hits construction companies hard: 32 out of 92 employees lose their jobs
The closure of projects and the loss of jobs represent a severe test for employees: as the “Rheinische Post” reports, the company is forced to lay off 32 of its 92 employees. The founder of the company himself, Hermann Tecklenburg, is also forced to declare personal bankruptcy.
The preliminary administration of the insolvency has been entrusted to Markus Kier from the law firm Piepenburg Rechtsanwälte. His job now is to examine next steps and hold conversations with the parties involved. Kier will also closely examine Tecklenburg's projects in Kevelaer, Straelen, Dinslaken and Düsseldorf, with the “Wallhöfe” project in Ratingen being particularly affected by high construction and interest costs, as well as supply chain issues.
The future of ongoing construction projects is uncertain. More information on the progress of the projects and the progress of the insolvency proceedings is expected in early April.
