On Sunday morning (March 31), Malta's national airline, Air Malta, ended its operations after almost 50 years. The new KM Malta Airlines took over. But immediately after the start of operations, the airline had to experience an unpleasant incident.

Disgusting incident on Malta Airlines: a German urinates on the plane

As reported by, among others, the Times of Malta newspaper, a German passenger urinated on the plane on the flight from Berlin to Malta. According to the report, the 49-year-old man pleaded guilty before a Maltese court and was sentenced to three months in prison, with a three-year suspended sentence.

Man denied access to bathroom during landing approach

But what had happened? The newspaper writes, citing statements made during the court hearing, that the man wanted to go to the bathroom at the entrance to the landing. The cabin crew explained that this would only be possible after landing in about five minutes.

The passenger was assigned a seat near the bathrooms at the back of the plane. But he obviously couldn't or didn't want to take it anymore. Because the German urinated on the floor in front of him and probably tried to hide it pretty badly.

Drunk passenger continues to exhibit “abnormal behavior”

He was arrested upon arrival and continued to exhibit “abnormal behavior,” according to police. At a hospital it was discovered that the man was under the influence of alcohol.

Maltese media do not provide any details about the flight. However, it must have been flight KM377, which took off from Berlin on Sunday afternoon at 9:45 p.m. The aircraft used was the Airbus A320 Neo with registration 9H-NED.
