Baseball fans eagerly awaiting the A’s eventual move to Las Vegas were in luck Friday, with the release of the first renderings of the A’s proposed $1.5 billion stadium.

As plans for the move continue to be finalized, the A’s offered a look at site plans for the new stadium, which will sit on the site of the Tropicana Hotel on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. First-look renderings offer, in stunning detail, a look at the anticipated 30,000-seat stadium, complete with retractable roof, to be built on the site.

The stunning images also show the beautiful view of the stadium facing the Strip from home plate, as well as its expected proximity to the renowned MGM Grand.

While the A’s still have some hurdles to overcome with building the stadium, Friday’s statement suggests that all parties involved are confident plans will go ahead. Athletics president Dave Kaval confirmed it in astatement issued together with representationswhere he expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing development.

“We are excited to share our vision for the potential new home of the Athletics. As our first concept design, we will continue to refine the look of the stadium over the next year,” Kaval said. “We hope our project will go beyond a traditional ballpark and serve as a catalyst for community development and engagement. Follow in the footsteps and success of the professional sports teams that came before us, creating union jobs, spurring economic growth, and encouraging investment in the community.

The A’s early relocation would mark the end of the team’s long tenure in Oakland, which began in 1968 after moving from Kansas City.Earlier this monththe club and Bally’s Corporation reached an agreement to build the stadium, news that came just over two weeks after the A’sagreed to buy 49 acres of land at Dean Martin Drive and Tropicana Avenue, with the intention of dedicating nine acres to his new home.
