AT&T Byron Nelson 2023 is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, May 11, and several players will enter this week’s event confident they can secure victory. KH Lee is the back-to-back defending champion of this event and is coming off a T-8 finish at the Wells Fargo Championship. Lee enters the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson as one of the most accurate iron players on tour, ranking 30th on greens in regulation percentage (68.38%).
World No. 2 player Scottie Scheffler, meanwhile, can add to his impressive resume with a win at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson. Scheffler already has two wins this season, finishing T-10 or better in four of his last five. starts on the PGA Tour. AT&T Byron Nelson’s latest 2023 odds list Scheffler as the 9-2 favorite, while Lee walks away at 18-1. Our proprietary model, created by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model has raised over $8,400 in its best bets since the restart, winning tournaments after tournament.
McClure’s model predicted that Jon Rahm would finish on top of the rankings at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model topped the second big win of Rahm’s career before the weekend. Rahm was two shots off the lead going into round three, but the model still projected him as the winner.
Additionally, the model included Nick Hardy and Davis Riley in her best bets to win the 2023 Zurich Classic. That bet came to +4,500, and throughout the tournament, McClure’s best bets resulted in more than $1,100. McClure’s best bets also included JT Poston winning outright in the 2022 John Deere Classic, even though he was listed as a massive 55-1 unlikely.
This same model has also achieved a whopping nine majors before the weekend. Anyone who has followed him has seen massive returns.
Now that the AT&T Byron Nelson 2023 field is on lockdown, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were astounding. Head over to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.
Best AT&T Byron Nelson Predictions for 2023
One big upset the model is asking for at AT&T Byron Nelson 2023: Lee, the two-time defending champion, stumbles this week and barely cracks the top 10. Lee joined the elite company last year when he successfully defended his title AT&T’s Bryon Nelson, joining Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson as the only golfers to do so in tournament history.
He may become the 10th man since World War II to win a PGA Tour event three years in a row, but the model doesn’t have much of a chance. Lee has struggled with consistency this season, finishing outside the top 20 in 12 tournaments. He also ranks 91st in putts per round (28.76) and 97th in percentage of a putt (40.30%), which doesn’t bode well against several elite golfers on the AT&T Byron Nelson course of 2023.
Another surprise: Adam Scott, an unlikely shot at 35-1, has a good title run. Scott has a much better chance of winning it all than the odds on him imply, making him a target for anyone looking for a big payday.
The 42-year-old is coming off a T-5 in the Wells Fargo Championship and has recorded 14 career PGA Tour wins. He has also been extremely effective off the tee this season, ranking 27th in driving distance (308.2) and 29th in strokes gained: off the tee (.377). He’s averaging 28.5 putts per round this season, but if he’s draining putts this week, he’ll have a great chance to finish atop the standings in the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson.
