Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) will soon mark an additional date on his calendar. As the Bild newspaper reports, the Free State plans to create its own engineering prize.

“The Prime Minister will present a prize for high technology,” says Bavarian Science Minister Markus Blume (CSU). €300,000 would be made available as annual prize money to “stimulate researchers to achieve maximum performance.”

Blume: “Bavaria is the actualization of the republic!”

The creation of the prize is part of a Free State technology offensive, which also includes the nuclear fusion mission, the founding of the Munich Quantum Valley and the Ministry of Science's AI offensive.

“Bavaria is the updated republic!” says Blume on the ministry's official website. “Other people are talking […] “We have been advancing at the pace of Bayern for a long time and we take the future in our hands!”
