Beau Greaves has been considered the best female player on the darts circuit for many years, but now she has won a tangible prize over her male counterparts. Beau 'n' Arrow won the ninth tournament of the 2024 PDC Development Tour on Friday.
For Greaves, it is the first victory in a PDC Development Tour tournament, having previously won 23 Women's Series and PDC Women's World Matchplay tournaments. The way she won this Development Tour title is similar to most of her victories on the women's circuit. No one even came close to the level of the 19-year-old Englishwoman.
Greaves conceded just four matches in seven matches on their way to the final. He beat Tim Scholz (4-0), Xanti van den Bergh (4-1), Bailey White (4-2), Tyler Thorpe (4-0), Lewis Mayes (4-0), Owen Maiden (5- 1). ) and in the semifinals Niko Springer (5-0).
Against Van den Bergh, White, Mayes and Maiden, Greaves posted 100+ averages of 103.14, 100.99, 107.36 and 102.27. In the final, Greaves beat Daniel Perry 5-1 to take home the top prize of £2,500.
The Development Tour is the PDC's youth tournament. This tour is open to players between 16 and 23 years old. Players who turn 24 during the season will still be able to participate.
Each Development Tour tournament offers prize money of £15,000. A ranking list is created with the prize money. At the end of the season, places one and two will receive an invitation to the World Cup of Darts, as well as a tour card for 2025 and 2026. The winner of the ranking will also be able to participate in the Grand Slam of Darts.
