Blumhouse Horror Movie Stars DeWanda Wise

Blumhouse and leonsgate They have presented the trailer for the next horror movie “Imaginary”, scheduled for release on March 8.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow, “Imaginary” stars DeWanda Wise as Jessica, a woman who returns to live in her childhood home with her family. Once she moves there, her stepdaughter Alice falls in love with Chauncey, a teddy bear found in the basement. As Jessica becomes increasingly concerned about the sinister connection between Alice and Chauncey, she realizes that Chauncey could be more than just a bear.

Keri Moore, co-president of theatrical marketing at Lionsgate, spoke about the premise of the film. “Something you see in all cultures is that children have unique access to the spirit world,” Moore said. “What if your imaginary friends are something from the spirit world? What if these imaginary friends were real, and what if when you dumped one of them, it made them angry?

He Advancewho played exclusively before blockbuster “Five Nights at Freddy’s” in theaters first engaged audiences with a sensory experience that immersed them in a terrifying first-person perspective.

Wise currently stars in the Starz series “Three Women” alongside Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin. He also appears in Chris Pine’s directorial debut, “Poolman.”

Wadlow has previously directed other horror films, including “Fantasy Island” (2020) and “Truth or Dare” (2018). He also directed “Kick-Ass 2,” the follow-up to Matthew Vaughn’s 2010 action-comedy.

Wadlow serves as a producer on “Imaginary” alongside Jason Blum for Blumhouse. Wadlow co-wrote the script with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland. In addition to starring, Wise also serves as executive producer alongside Ryan Turek.
