Camila Cabello shares favorite L’Oréal products and album update

Camila Cabello She’s a little shy to say it, but this year she’s been in her “health and wellness” era.

Ahead of L’Oréal Paris’ Women of Worth event in Los Angeles on Thursday, where she appeared on the red carpet alongside the likes of Eva Longoria, Helen MirrenAja Naomi King and Andie MacDowell, the singer spoke with Rolling Stone about focusing on your self-care routine this year.

“This is really boring and annoying because I would have been upset if someone had said this, but this year I’ve really been on a health and wellness journey,” she says. Rolling Stone.

Part of that “journey” has been her ongoing collaboration with L’Oreal. Cabello has been a global ambassador and spokesperson for the brand since 2017, and the artist says she has become a “great figure.” skin care addicted,” shouting out L’Oreal’s “Bright Reveal Broad Spectrum Daily UV Lotion” as her favorite product to keep her skin in tip-top shape.

In addition to working with L’Oreal Paris, Cabello reveals that she has also been in the studio lately, although she appears shy when talking about her next album. What she will share is that she is “engineering” and taking inspiration from all forms of art. “For me, what produces different results is having new inputs,” she says. “That’s what inspired me.”

Hello Camila, how are you?

Things are good. I’m a little tired physically but everything is amazing. I can not complain.

We need some rest girl. It’s vacation time.

We are sure to do.

I was reading an interview you did earlier this year where you said, “I don’t go to bed without washing my face.” I wanted to ask you, what are some of your favorite L’Oreal products to keep your skin looking great?

Well, thank you, darling. I definitely use SPF every day even if there is no visible sun. If it’s light outside, I use SPF. [especially] the new L’Oreal Paris Bright Reveal Daily Broad Spectrum UV Lotion with antioxidants. That’s very exciting for me because I love my sunscreen every day.

And they have a new L’Oreal Paris Bright Reveal Dark Spot Serum with 12% Niacinamide. In fact, I’ve become a huge skincare junkie, so I really know that these ingredients are really good. We need our Niacinamide. We need our retinol. Lately I’ve been doing some gua sha every day.

You partnered with L’Oreal on an event celebrating Women of Worth and I wanted to ask you, who are some of the women who inspire you right now?

That’s a great question. Obviously everyone knows that my mom is like my best friend. But to give it more spice, this woman that came to mind is Salma Hayek: she is mean and badass. I love this interviewer, this journalist who I really love, named Krista Tippett. I’m also going to say Beyonce, because I’m so excited for this Renaissance movie.

I’m really excited about that too. And obviously, we’re approaching the end of 2023. What are some of the biggest lessons you’ve learned this year?

That’s a great, great question. I didn’t grow up eating healthy, or eating vegetables for that matter. So this year I really learned the value of food being medicine. Eating better makes you feel better. They don’t lie about that.

I feel like in Latin homes there are never vegetables at home.

No, there is not! White people aren’t lying when they say “eat better to feel better.” My dad’s breakfast is a tummy with coffee with milkand I’m like, “There’s no protein in that shit!”

Speaking of eating well, the holidays are approaching. What plans do you have in mind for the end of the year?

I love keeping up with the seasons as much as I can. I think it’s a good time to stay indoors more and transition to cozy places indoors. Put on some movies, cook a little, bake a little. I feel like summer, I was really outside and I’m still outside. But you know, I’m trying to hibernate a little more. I love a good Mexican hot chocolate and I’ll put a little cinnamon in it.

I know you are a great reader. Is there anything you’ve read this year that really caught your attention?

So. Many. Things. Damn, I don’t even know if I could name one. I really liked Emily Ratajkowski’s book. “My body.” That was a great book.

And did you read? britney book?

I haven’t done it, but I would be very curious to read it because I have heard that it is super interesting.

I feel like if I was talking to you and I didn’t ask you about music I would be really mad at myself. It has been more than a year and a half since family. Have you started planning CC4??

Oh darling, of course. I’m always scheming but I won’t say much about it because I love calculated surprises.

I can not say anything!

How can you get into the right mindset when it comes to making CC4, if you’re not going to share about the music? What keeps you there?

It always has to be about challenging myself and doing something new. I really consume a lot of new art and a lot of new references. Lots of new music, new movies, new novels, new photographs. For me, what produces different results is having new input. That’s what inspired me.

I’m excited for what’s to come. What keeps you inspired in the music world lately?

Hmm, let’s see. Let me go to my Spotify right now. I already have my mix. I love PinkPantheress. I always love Drake. I love Beyoncé. I will always love Beyoncé. I love my afrobeats.

What Afrobeats artists are you listening to?

I love the song “Water” by Tyla. She’s also literally drop-dead gorgeous. I love Ayrah Starr. I love Asake. I love Fireboy DML. I’m a big afrobeats girl for sure.
