Even on his rare day off, Charles Barkley managed to go viral on Friday after the NBA legend and TNT analyst delivered a forever quote in defense of Pat McAfee.upcoming move to ESPN.
Appearing on Friday’s episode ofThe Pat McAfee Show, Barkley offered some strong words of encouragement to the popular talk show host amid the backlash he received over his recently announced deal with ESPN. McAfee opened the conversation by praising Barkley and Inside the NBA to keep the masses, including thenew dad himselfentertained throughout the postseason.
After thanking McAfee, Barkley turned to McAfee’s criticisms and comments on May 17.address negative feedback. Needless to say, Chuck took issue with the comment on behalf of his friend and fellow TV personality, prompting the Hall of Famer to give McAfee some unsolicited advice on what he should say to the haters. as only he can.
“Tell them to shut up,” Barkley exclaimed. “Who doesn’t take a better f—— job? Tell them to shut the f*ck up.”

Of course, unsurprisingly, Barkley didn’t stop there. When McAfee and his team laughed at the response, Barkley had a few more NSFW words to add after McAfee thanked him for the encouragement.
“I just laughed it off,” Barkley said of the critics. “I’m like, wait, who the hell doesn’t take a better job?”
While Friday’s exchange and others like it may not play well on the show’s new network, McAfee and Barkley clearly seem to be on the same page when it comes to their approach to handling criticism. Not to mention McAfee’sreported eight-figure deal with ESPNshould be enough for him to have the last laugh at the end of the day.
