Most NBA players are very well trained when it comes to talking to the media and not saying things that are too inflammatory in interviews and press conferences.

Gabe Vincent is among them, as the Heat guard joined the Inside the NBA after Miami’s dominating Game 3 victory to discuss what went right and what his mindset will be for Game 4. Unlike most conference room news or interviews with a reporter, however, when he brings up clichés and the coach talks to the TNT desk, you’re likely to get called for that, which happened to Vincent in a hilarious way that even made him chuckle on Sunday night.

Vincent was trying to do the right thing by talking about how the Celtics would show up and fight in Game 3, noting that they are “well trained” and “not going to lie down.” Charles Barkley had to stop him in his tracks and ask him if he watched Game 3, in who left the Celtics in the third quarter and they had their bookings by the time the fourth quarter started and they were under 30.

there really is just a show that this kind of interaction will happen, because while a lot of us would think about it, only Chuck would say it out loud with the guy right there, and he’d get that kind of reaction. Vincent was doing his best to say the right things, but Barkley wasn’t going to let him lie outright about the Celtics’ effort after that particular game in which it became clear they were a team very willing to concede in certain situations.
