The town of Tenby, located in a coastal area of Wales, is being invaded by “rats the size of cats”, according to testimonies of several residents, who are terrified.
According to the newspaper daily mail, rats are damaging the cliffs along the coast. Roger Miles, one of the residents, revealed that the problem has become increasingly serious. “At dusk and early in the morning there are rats everywhere,” Miles said.
“It’s the structural damage they could be doing to the cliff face that is the big concern,” Derek Brown, another local, told British television. BBC quoted by daily mail.
Mayor Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said he was “taking action” and helping set up dozens of traps to get rid of the rodents.
A spokesperson for Pembrokeshire Council in Wales reported that are “aware of rodent issues” and are working to resolve the issue. However, they advised residents not to feed birds or drop any food to avoid attracting more rats.
