Hyderabad: Khairatabad DCC Chairman C. Rohin Reddy along with other Congress leaders took part in a protest organized by aspirants to police jobs in Gandhi Bhavan.

The protest program organized by NSUI was led by State President Balmoor Venkat. Earlier, the Congress announced its solidarity with IS, Constable Abhyarthula Samasyala Parishkara Porata Samithi, the umbrella organizations of aspirants who were disqualified in physical tests following the changed standards of the state government.

“Rather than doing fitness the old-fashioned way, the government changed the standards. The long jump was increased from 3.8 to 4 meters, and this took place immediately after the 1600 meter run. Even the standards of other events have been changed. I demand that those who qualified in the running event be declared qualified for the main,” said Rohin Reddy.

Later that evening, as the number of protesters increased, the number of police deployed at Gandhi Bhavan increased. In a fresh protest, aspirants and party leaders including AICC Secretary Nadeem Javed submitted a memorandum bearing the likeness of Chief Minister K/ Chandrasekhar Rao.
