Keeping up with new music can be exhausting, if not impossible. From weekly album releases to standalone singles being released daily, the amount of music is so vast that it’s easy for something to slip through the cracks. Even following Uproxx’s recommendations on a daily basis can be a lot to ask, which is why we bring you this roundup of the week’s best new music every Monday.

This week, Drake had another unexpected fall and André 3000 did the same. Yes, it was a great week for new music. Check out the highlights below.

Drake – “Evil Ways” Feat. J.Cole

Quite a week for fans of the Drake and J. Cole duo! The rappers first released a new music video for “First person shooter”, then they launched a brand new collaboration on For All Dogs, Scary Hours Editionthe optimist and the self-congratulatory »Bad ways.”

André 3000 — “I swear, I really wanted to make a “Rap” album but that’s literally how the wind blew me this time”

André 3000, former member of Outkast and one of the most popular rappers of his time, is finally back. Perhaps disappointingly for some, his new project, New blue sun, is completely rap-free and is more of a flute-focused instrumental project. Once you get over the lack of bars, New blue sun is an interesting and sonically adventurous listen.

BIBI and Becky G — “Amigos”

Worlds collided last week when K-pop star BIBI and Latin music heroine Becky G teamed up on “Friends”, which stylistically falls more into Becky’s domain, but which sees both artists flexing their strengths.

Tate McRae – “Ex”

McRae (that of Saturday Night Live last weekend) is currently on top of the world. Apart SNLshe just announced a new album, revealed a 2024 tourand gave up”Ex», a new pure-pop single which sees her leave her old flames.

Daft Punk — “Lose Yourself to Dance (Drumless Edition)” Feat. Pharrell Williams

Love Daft Punk but can’t stand all those pesky drums? Good news: the late French duo has just released a “Drumless Edition” of Random access memorieswhich might sound strange, but it’s a good way to explore classics like “Lose Yourself To Dance” in a new context.

Bleachers — “Alma Mater”

A non-self-titled debut album is a big statement, and that’s exactly what Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers are doing with their announced new album. They enlisted the help of Lana Del Rey to launch the album into the world with “Foster mother», a meditative number at medium tempo.

The smile – “Wall of eyes”

Radiohead has been quiet in recent years, but Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood’s side project Smile has been prolific, with a debut album in 2022 and a second on the way next year. The new LP, Eye wallwas announced last week, when they also shared the strange title title.

Sabrina Carpenter – “Cindy Lou Who”

We return to the same Christmas songs every year, but Carpenter has a bunch of new ones on his new Fruit cake LP. She invokes the emblematic How the Grinch Stole Christmas on “Cindy Lou Who,” a brief, evocative and moving ballad.

Tyla and Travis Scott — “Water (Remix)”

South African singer-songwriter Tyla has had a breakthrough year in 2023 thanks to the success of her single “Water”. She’s now giving the track an extra boost by recruiting Travis Scott to contribute a new fluid remix.

MJ Lenderman — “Hangover Game (Live)”

Wednesday’s MJ Lenderman just released a fantastic live album, And the wind (live and in bulk!)And he told Uproxx of what goes into making a good concert LP, “I think it’s energy. A lot of energy goes into it. When I talk about “energy,” I’m talking about “was the audience having fun?” Did the group get along well? Stuff like that. Because some of my favorite live albums aren’t necessarily the best. The band isn’t playing their instruments the best, or it’s not right. So I think it’s a lot of “Does this look fun?” Would you like to be there? That sort of thing.”
