Drake shouts out Taylor Swift on ‘Scary Hours 3’ EP

Duck released the third installment of his EP series, scary hourson Friday, and left a surprise scream in “Red Button” in ode to Taylor Swift.

“Taylor Swift, the only black I ever rated/The only one that could make me drop the album a little later,” the artist rapped on the first track of Disc Two, toeing the line with: “The rest of you, I treat you ”. You’ll be glad you didn’t make it/Leaving your stamp devastated/Even when you fill out the stats, period, I never hated him.”

Elsewhere in the song, Drake comments on Kanye: “Every time Yeezy called a truce/ I had my head swell/ Thinking we were finally going to fix things and start levitating/ I realized it was all premeditated.”

They’ve both run into Kanye beef in the past. In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stoneaddressed the infamous VMA fiasco and his controversial 2016 track “Famous,” in which West raps “I feel like Taylor and I could still have sex.”

Drake first released his scary hours in 2018, with the two-track EP including “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity,” while the three-track scary hours 2 arrived in 2021.

“I’ll tell you this: I don’t… I don’t feel the need to appease anyone,” Drake said in an Instagram video before scary hours‘Friday release. “I feel so secure in the job I just left that I know I can go and disappear for whatever… six months, a year… two years.”
