ZTwo girls, aged 14 and 17, climbed over the arch of the Waldschlößchen Bridge in Dresden on Friday night, triggering a police operation. The police suspect a spirit of adventure behind the action. According to the police station, the young people were sitting on the arch of the bridge. A pedestrian spotted the two and notified the police.

Several patrol cars surrounded the bridge. At the same time, specialists from the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony and an emergency doctor arrived to convince the girls to return.

At first they were able to convince the 14-year-old to leave the bridge. The older girl was later rescued using a turntable ladder. The young people were then given medical treatment. The height of the bridge arch is about 13 meters.

Police said the impact on morning rush hour traffic was limited despite the bridge closure. It is currently the winter holidays in Saxony. Therefore, there are fewer vehicles on the road.
