Dua Lipa and Romain Gavras debut on the red carpet

Dua Lipa and French director Romain Gavras made their official red carpet debut as a couple in the cannes film festival on Friday, May 19. The duo attended the premiere of the film “Omar la Fraise”.

The couple stepped out in coordinating black outfits. Lipa donned a dynamic off-the-shoulder black dress with slits that tied at her waist. Meanwhile, Gavras looked dapper in a classic black suit. The couple looked comfortable as they walked the red carpet, posing with their arms around each other and laughing together.

Lipa and Gavras were the first seen leaving a party together in London in February, according to entertainment tonight. The outlet also posted photos of the couple holding hands at Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week show in March.

Gavras is best known for directing music videos like Kanye WestMIA’s “No Church in the Wild” and MIA’s “Bad Girls.” He also directed the 2022 movie “Athena.” Before dating Lipa, he was linked to rita ora in 2020 before marrying “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi.

As for Lipa, she was previously in a long-term relationship with Gigi and Bella Hadid’s brother, Anwar. They separated in December 2021 after almost two years of dating. Since then, the “One Kiss” singer was rumored to have dated Jack Harlow and Trevor Noah. But in October 2022, she made it clear that she wasn’t seriously dating anyone and instead, she was enjoying being single.

“For me, this is the first year that I haven’t been in a relationship for a long time,” he said in his “Dua Lipa: At Your Service” podcast. “It’s been great to be alone and think only of myself and be a little selfish, something I’ve never had the chance to do. But when you find someone who really softens you up and calms you down… big difference!”
