England qualified for the World Darts final by beating Scotland. Luke Humphries and Michael Smith beat Peter Wright and Gary Anderson 8-4 and will face Austria later in the evening.

England were already the hot favourites for the title beforehand. They have the two best players, Humphries and Smith, and they made a big impression against Northern Irish duo Josh Rock and Brendan Dolan on Sunday afternoon. The two Englishmen played another good game against the Scots with an average of 96.39 and a double rate of 57 percent. Wright and Anderson shot an average of 94, but only managed a 33 percent two-point rate.

A key moment of the match was the sixth over, where Smith managed to score 68 to give England a 4-2 lead. In the seventh game, Bully Boy scored a double five and took the English team into the break with a 5-2 lead.

Scotland came out of the break with an 11-dart shot, but Humphries then made it 6-3 with a finish of 43. In match 11, Cool Hand Luke also hit a finish of 97 to make the score 7-4. England then finished the game with a 15-dart toss.

For England it is the first World Darts final since 2020. Back then, Smith and Rob Cross lost 0-3 in the final against the Welsh duo Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton. However, in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 the title went to England. At the time, Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis were in the England team.
