Ludwig Görtz, former head of the shoe store of the same name, died on Sunday at the age of 89. Several media outlets report this unanimously.

Görtz was for a long time the boss and owner of the shoe chain of the same name. He joined the traditional company at the age of 26. The first branch was opened in 1875 by Johann Ludwig Görtz.

Görtz resigned many years ago from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ludwig Görtz GmbH. A year ago, the Görtz family gave up their shares in the company, which was in insolvency proceedings at the time.
