The number one question when someone in Hollywood says they’re done is, “Are you sure?” Dwayne The Rock Johnson recently returned to Fast and Furious franchise, Clint Eastwood has starred in four films since grand torinoand Michael Keaton donned the skintight Batsuit again to The flash. You can threaten to walk away, sure, but you just can’t stay away. so when Harrison Ford announced that Indiana Jones and the dial of fate would be his last appearance as ‘ol Indy, Hollywood had to ask, “Are you sure about that?”

“It is not obvious?” responded the 80-year-old actor during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival, according to People. I need to sit down and rest a bit. I love working, and I love this character, and I love what he brought into my life, and that’s all I can say.” He added that he hopes the new movie “rounds out the story.”

Ford introduced the latest Indiana Jones film at the prestigious annual film festival in France to an enthusiast, five minute standing ovation. He was also awarded an honorary Palme d’Or. “Everything has come together to support me in my old age and I love the job,” she said. “So I just want to work and I want to tell stories, good stories, and I’ve been very lucky in my life to have that opportunity.”

But Ford also hopes that when he retires the famous movie character, the character will retire along with him. Anything Disney plans to do with it Indiana Jones The upcoming series will be without Ford’s involvement, according to the actor, but recasting Indy for a reboot may be off the table.

“No one is going to be Indiana Jones”, Ford said He Today Show in 2019. “I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.” He also joked that it was “a great way to tell Chris Pine,” adding that “I’m sorry, man.” but not only chris pine! Ford doesn’t want anyone to take up the Indy mantle, not a single one of Hollywood’s Chrises. Still, this probably won’t be the last time she’s asked about his return. For now, let’s celebrate the man.
