it’s fun to think about Harrison Fordthe last of Indiana Jones film as farewell The 80-year-old received a five-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival for Indiana Jones and the dial of fate, which many critics hailed as a fitting and emotional send-off for the character. But Ford has only increased his workload in recent years. He just starred Contraction on Apple TV+, the first season of 1923he yellow stone spin-off, and is about to join the Wonderful universe as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: New World Order.

But after a highlight video of Ford’s work was shown and director Thierry Frémaux invited the actor onstage to receive a surprise Palme d’Or, the waterworks began. “I’m very moved by this,” Ford told the audience, according to Variety. “They say that when you are about to die, you see your life flash before your eyes, and I just saw my life flash before my eyes. A large part of my life, but not my whole life. My life has been enabled.” to my lovely wife, who has supported my passion and dreams, and I am grateful.” Ford arrived at the venue with his wife, Calista Flockhart, 58, and the venue reportedly billed the couple as “Indiana Jones and Calista Flockhart.” Cute. “I love you too. But I have a movie you should see,” Ford continued. “It’s right behind me. So let me get out of the way and thanks again for this great honor.”

The actor previously revealed that this would be the last time he would play Indiana Jones and that any future Disney projects would have to continue without his involvement. The new movie uses de-aging technology to send Ford back in time and have him knock out some Nazis one more time. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen round out the cast, with a release date set for June 30, 2023. Check out more reactions to Harrison Ford’s big night below:
