It's probably a little late to ask why “Bushido & Anna-Maria” is already in the second round. Still: Why is the convicted rapper Anis Ferchichi aka Bushido, whose lyrics violate human dignity and good taste, and whose dalliances with a Berlin clan boss have been the subject of several lawsuits, getting his own documentary series on German television? Because the man doesn't have enough money yet? Because the rap scene also deserves its own “Geissen”? Because no one else was willing to drag their kids in front of the camera?
But as I said: Such ruminations are not worth it, the second season of “Bushido & Anna-Maria” has now started. This time it's about a large family moving to Dubai, which is not always seen positively: “Dubai is borderline in the summer and the sun is so annoying,” says Anna-Maria, who grew up in Delmenhorst. I never thought it would be so hot in the United Arab Emirates. And that sun is no longer special when the sun shines every day.
Anna-Maria Ferchichi: Miscarriage at 41
Most of the show time is made up of young people explaining their sleeping situation to the camera crew in their new home in Dubai, riding camels through the desert or just howling loudly and polyphonically. Anna-Maria openly chats about her teenage daughters becoming women, which is sure to make them happy. The parents had already revealed in the podcast that their daughter Laila is undergoing therapeutic treatment for anxiety. Why keep something under wraps when you can make headlines with it?
To escape the eternal sun of Dubai, Anna-Maria and the children fly to Germany for a holiday. He has family stress there, while Bushido complains about loneliness in a quiet house in Dubai. At home, Anna-Maria finds out that she is pregnant. As a mother of eight children. At the age of 41. The medical problems are already obvious. Bushido still doesn't want to fly to him and describes the decision as “very brave of me”. So Anna-Maria travels back to Dubai with the entire entourage and 12 suitcases. She has a miscarriage there.
Does Bushido have autistic traits?
The show is something like marriage therapy in front of the camera. In brief individual interviews, it quickly becomes clear that Bushido is not an easy character. It's definitely part of her image that she lovingly cultivates; Rappers just have to be self-centered machos to match their lyrics and be sad chickens' wet dreams. Wife Anna-Maria has found ways to cope. “He's an absolute loner,” she diagnoses, and even suggests that Bushido might have autistic traits: “He doesn't do it because he wants to be an asshole. I think Anis lacks some of the human traits that we have.” You just have to know him to tolerate him.
But Anna-Maria Ferchichi seems to be able to assert herself alongside her ego. In the series, she promotes her Instagram feed uncontrollably, even if she's a little embarrassed about being an influencer: “I have a 1.3 GPA. “I'm not as stupid as I look,” he insists. That's why he can expertly say that with twins or triplets, stress increases “explosively” compared to only children. Bushido is certainly pleased that the woman is not only taking care of a group of children, but is now also contributing to the family's income: “I think it's great.”
At the end of the first episode, Bushido offers some platitudes that supposedly speak to modesty: “I have no intentions, I have no desires. I'm just trying to survive every day.” Anna-Maria, sitting next to him, laughs. It sounds a little hysterical.
