Canadian Rob Heppenstall won the men’s 1500m final on Sunday at the USA Track and Field Bermuda Grand Prix (USATF) in Devonshire, a Gold event on the World Athletics Continental Tour.

The 26-year-old from Hamilton, Ontario won with a time of 3:41.83.

Heppenstall led Great Britain’s Ethan Hussey by 0.69 seconds and Puerto Rico’s Rob Napolitano by 1.04 seconds.

In the men’s 200m final, Canadian star Andre De Grasse finished second with a wind assisted time of 20.28 seconds (+4.7m/s), finishing just behind American Elijah Murrow (20.11). . De Grasse’s time would have been his best of the season, but the wind exceeded the legal limit of two meters per second.

Murrow got off to a fast start and kept pace all the way to defeat the reigning Olympic champion, who passed American Kendal Williams in the final leg of the race to finish behind Murrow.

Olympic champion Andre De Grasse of Markham, Ontario, finishes second in the men’s 200m final with a time of 20.28 at a World Athletics Continental Tour event in Devonshire, Bermuda. American Elijah Morrow wins the race with a time of 20.11.

The 28-year-old runner from Markham, Ontario didn’t fare as well in the 100m earlier in the day, finishing dead last in seventh with a wind-assisted time of 10.16 (+4.4m/s).

The American duo of Christian Coleman (9.78) and Noah Lyles (9.80) finished first and second, respectively, while Jamaica’s Ackeem Blake was third in 9.87.

American Abby Steiner won the women’s 200m in 22.06, finishing ahead of Bahamas’ Anthonique Strachan (22.34) and fellow American Makenzie Dunmore (22.50).

Addy Townsend of Coquitlam, BC, finished seventh in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:04.34.
