Experiment with breast milk editor

Okay, I admit it: The things I’m willing to do in the name of good skin can get a little out of control. i tried weird tips to wash your face and complete and total skin detoxesand recently when I heard that Halsey swore by breast milk to heal the skin, i began contemplating rubbing literal breast milk on my face. When I told my friends about the idea, they thought I was going crazy, but if it was good enough for Halsey, a celebrity, I thought it was good enough for me.

After much internal debate, I decided to switch from my normal skincare routine for a week in favor of a breast milk regimen. (Yes, I realize how wild this sounds.) The question was, where was TF supposed to find the breast milk? As a 33-year-old woman who has never given birth, I’m sure it’s no surprise that prior to this, my interactions with colostrum have been few and far between. There was one time I tried a friend’s on a bachelorette trip (tasted like vanilla almond milk, for the record), but other than that, I don’t often find it in my everyday life.

My best friend is currently breastfeeding, so while I seriously considered asking her for a sample of the “products” to test the claims, I figured my best route would be to find legitimate products that contain breast milk.

After doing some research, I found skin made of milk. Total transparency: Milk Made Skin does not use current breast milk (TBH, I don’t know if selling breast milk is legal), but instead, the brand uses its own milk peptide complex, which mimics ingredients in breast milk. The complex, which includes water, lactose, vitamins, proteins, essential fatty acids, and antibacterial and antiviral enzymes, is supposed to give you all the benefits of using breast milk on your face, without having to rub breast milk on your face. A win-win, in my book.

For the experiment, I chose to use the Milk Drunk Peptide Moisturizer for Skin Made with Milk ($89), the Milk Made Skin Milk Boost Eye Cream ($89), and the Milk Made Skin Milk Drench Exfoliating Cleansing Gel ($20).

The first thing I noticed when I tried the Milk Drench cleanser was its tiny bamboo beads. I usually don’t love using pearl cleansers because I have sensitive skin and I was worried that using the cleanser twice a day would irritate it. However, it’s also made with rose water and willow bark extract, which I knew would be calming. In the morning and at night, after drenching my face with water, I would massage a pea-sized amount into my skin, then rinse everything off with lukewarm water. The cleanser lathered up nicely and was great at removing dirt and makeup, but i found constant use to be a bit irritating to my sensitive skin.

The Milk Drunk Moisturizer was probably my favorite product and I will continue to use it, especially when trying to cure pimples or marks in my face quickly. When I first started using it, I had a small cut below my eyebrow from being pinched with tweezers. I’ve had injuries like this before (I guess I suck at tweezing my eyebrows), and it usually takes weeks to heal. I noticed the mark started to fade in about two days and by the end of the week I couldn’t even see it. In all honesty, the consistency, scent, and results of this moisturizer reminded me of a different, very expensive moisturizer I love, the brand name of which rhymes with “shma shmer.”

As for the eye cream, I loved the consistency, creaminess, and texture, but I didn’t notice much of it. an illuminating effect. I also tend to get breakouts in the corners of my eyes if the products are too heavy, but I did not see any problems in that regard with this cream.

Since switching to this routine, I have noticed a few new things. My skin feels more hydrated, looks brighter overall, and my dark pimple marks or lesions seem to heal faster. However, these products are, in my opinion, expensive, so I plan to use them as spot treatments when I need a little more hydration or if I’m looking to get rid of marks fast. All things considered, I think I’m a fan of breast milk now.
