SPeru has had six presidents in the past six years. Now the Andean country is threatened with the next change of president. At least calls for the resignation of President Dina Boluarte have increased in recent days. The reason is investigations initiated by the public prosecutor. Over the Easter weekend, Boluarte's residence and office were the target of house searches. Investigators were looking for expensive jewelry and luxury watches that Boluarte is said to have owned, although it is unclear where they came from.
The investigation was triggered by reports in the media that showed, based on photos, that Boluarte apparently owns a number of luxury Rolex watches, each priced between $14,000 and $25,000. Boluarte's monthly salary is $4,200.
