The districts of Castelo Branco and Guarda are today under yellow warning due to the forecast of snowfall above 1,600 meters, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).
According to the same source, the warning for snowfall, which is in effect from 05:46 am, will remain until 12:00 pm today in those two districts.
The warning is for snowfall above 1,600 meters and the possibility of an accumulation of 5 to 10 centimeters above 1,800 meters, with the IPMA warning of possible disturbances in circulation, with blocked roads or roads, and possible ice formation. .
The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
The IPMA predicts for today on the continent showers, which will decrease in frequency from the afternoon, and moderate to weak wind.
