Jamie Lee Curtis has paid tribute to his daughter Ruby in an emotional post on Trans Visibility Day.
He Oscar winner the actress revealed that his youngest son transitioned in July 2021saying at the time that she and her husband Christopher Guest ‘I have watched with amazement and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby.’
The Freaky Friday star revealed that Ruby, who was previously known as Thomas Guest, and her fiancé they planned to get married.
Jamie, 64, has now celebrated Trans Visibility Day with an adorable photo with Ruby, writing: ‘Love is love.
A mother’s love knows no judgments.
‘As a mother, I stand in total solidarity with my children as they move through the universe as their authentic selves with their own minds, bodies and ideas.
‘On this day of trans visibility, my daughter and I are visible.’
Jamie’s post was showered with praise, with many calling her an “amazing” mom.
Someone else wrote: ‘Thank you! As the mother of a trans son, I feel the same way. Thank you for using your platform to support these adorable and magical children.’
This comes after the Knives Out star he named his Oscar trophy ‘they/they’ after Ruby, when she won best supporting actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
She wiped away tears as she told hosts Savannah Guthrie, 51, and Hoda Kotb, 58, after footage of their victory moment was played: “I hadn’t seen that.” So, that was the first time I saw it.
Jamie, who has adopted daughters Ruby, 27, and Annie, 36, with her.
Christopher, husband of 75 years, later held up his Oscars
statue and declared her non-binary.
The True Lies interpreter said: ‘Here they are! In support of my daughter Ruby, I will ask you to be them.
‘I’m just going to call them ‘they’ – they/they. And they are doing great. They are installing.
He later had hysterical fans when she revealed where her Oscar was kept… along with another award that raises eyebrows.
