NAfter at least two dozen attacks on American intelligence officials and White House staff, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have parted ways with their German shepherd commander. As it became known on Wednesday, the male dog has been living with the relatives of the presidential couple for several months.
The commander had to move out of the White House at the end of 2021 after repeatedly attacking and biting Secret Service officers. Some bite wounds were so deep that they required hospital treatment. Security staff also recalled the German shepherd attack, after which the east wing was temporarily closed to visitors to clean up the blood of the three-year-old commander's victim.
Despite canine training and behavioral therapy, the male dog did not calm down after moving to the Biden family's vacation home. The first dog had also repeatedly attacked Secret Service officers in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
