Joel Embiid Resists Urge To Do DX Crotch Chop Against Hawks

A problem for Joel Embiid over the past few months has revolved around his desire to celebrate this moment by acting like he’s a member of D-Generation X. Twice, the reigning NBA MVP has received a fine for doing the WWE faction’s iconic crotch cut to celebrate something that happened on the basketball court.

This led to him receiving some love from Triple H – he even received a invitation to WrestleMania in Philadelphia next spring, although he can’t make it – but it seems the NBA’s desire to not let Embiid do that has finally taken hold. Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers played a season-long tournament game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, and during the third quarter, he grabbed a rebound, went up hard, made a layup and was the victim of a foul by Onyeka Okongwu.

And then he threw his arms in the air, seemingly preparing to tell the Atlanta fans that he had two words for you. But his desire to no longer send money to the league took over, to the delight of Danuel House Jr.

As a compromise, I think the NBA should reward Embiid and let him do a Sixers version of the New Age Outlaws intro before a game one of these days.
