John Oliver Said Fabio Had “Nadir’ Of Israel-Hamas Discourse

The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has no shortage of galactic brainpower, especially from celebrities. But there was one more Mad Libs than most. Last week, Fox Business devoted 10 minutes to a renowned geopolitics expert. We are of course talking about Fabio. The old romance novel cover template and Exorcist III cameo player said outrageous things about the conflict, so much so that John Oliver declared his contribution to be the “absolute nadir” of discourse on the issue.

Oliver devoted part of the opening to his last Last week tonight to the Middle East skirmish, and it wasn’t just the absurdity of Fox calling out Fabio that got to him. That’s also what he said. At one point, Fabio called Hamas “10,000 times worse than the Nazis.” It seemed hyperbolic, but it wasn’t as bad as what he later said: “At least the Nazis, they kept silent.” »

This made Oliver angry. “Wait Fabio,” he told viewers. “Far be it from me to contradict a renowned geopolitical expert and former spokesperson for ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter,’ but ‘at least the Nazis kept silent?!’ »

“The Nazis kept a lot of things,” he continued. “They remained punctual. They kept him blond. They kept it humorless. And yes, they stayed the course. It was some well-crafted bullshit, but subtlety wasn’t their calling card at all, Fabio! »
