“We already know that the love that the PSD usually has for public administration is always more visible when you sit on this bench than when you are on this side of the room”, said Mariana Vieira da Silva, in response to deputies, at the parliamentary committee on Public Administration, Spatial Planning and Local Government.

For the minister, the PSD tends to point out “fat and excesses” in this sector, using expressions that indicate that there are too many civil servants or that they work too little.

Mariana Vieira da Silva responded to the PSD parliamentary group, which accused the Government of “navigating by sight” in matters of Public Administration.

The Minister of the Presidency considered it important that, in the Assembly of the Republic, speeches that tend to divide workers in the public and private sectors should be removed.

On the other hand, he criticized the posture of “cutting the right way”, which he said was adopted by the PSD when he was in government, also refuting the criticism that, since 2015, the executive has “navigated in plain view”.

As the minister underlined, the Government defined “a set of priorities and objectives in stages” in this matter, which have been fulfilled.

“It has been a path taken in a responsible and phased manner, fulfilling the objectives that were in our commitment”, he stressed.
