Plot
Airbenders will adapt the book by Donald L. Miller, Airbenders: The American Bombers Who Waged the Air War Against Nazi Germany, which is (yes) a true story. Miller’s book was adapted into a story by John Orloff (Band of brothers) and John Shiban (Break the bad, The X Files) with Orloff doing the script honors.
With approximately eight hours of runtime, the Apple TV+ series will take an in-depth look at the “Bloody Hundred,” the 100th bomber group, who risked everything – body, mind and emotion – to target the ‘Nazi Germany with bombings. The efforts of the Bloody Hundred actually helped topple Hitler’s Third Reich, although injury and even capture awaited those who fought in the skies. The tech giant and streamer has been describing the series as “a true story of brotherhood and American aviators in World War II Europe.” This means that with the highs will come the lows, and not every character is destined to make it out alive, which is unfortunately to be expected during combat missions at 25,000 feet above sea level.

Cast

Butler will play the full spectrum of emotions as Major Gale Clevin, who leads a constant series of peril-filled aerial bombardments and was, at one point, taken as a prisoner of war. On that note, Turner is the same rank as Major John Egan and Keoghan plays Lieutenant Curtis Biddick. Actors such as Branden Cook, Ncuti Gatwa, Nate Mann, Anthony Boyle, Rafferty Law and Josiah Cross will continue to make this series soar.
Release date
The show takes off on January 26, 2024 with two episodes. New weekly episodes will follow until March 15, followed by new episodes on Fridays until March 15, 2024.
