Nicholas Hoult Reportedly Cast As Lex Luthor In “Superman’

At the end of the 70s, Superman: The Movie helped launch modern comic book cinema, but since then Hollywood has had some unforgettable moments with Man of Steel. Time seems to have forgotten Brandon Routh. The strangely angry (and murderous!) iteration of Henry Cavill met an untimely end. But perhaps this new James Gunn film, promising a lighter version, will put Krypton’s favorite son back on track. It already has a promising cast, including, now, the sexy Lex Luthor.

By Deadline, sources say Nicholas Hoult has landed – or is at least in talks to play – the role of Superman’s most popular foe. THE About a boy The actor’s name has been swirling around the role for months. Rumors first surfaced in May, before David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan took on the roles of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. At one point, however, Hoult was rumored to be up for the Man of Steel himself.

If this information is true, then Hoult played a role previously played on the big screen by Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey and Jesse Eisenberg. This would also be a good choice: although he initially gained attention through nice guy roles, he pushed himself, playing snarky bullshit in The favourite and on Great. And of course he was memorably bald as apostate War Boy Nux in Mad Max: Road to Furymaking it a no-brainer for comics’ most famous evil bald.
