Lux Pascal was feeling the love on Friday. The 30-year-old graduated from The Juilliard School in New York City as her proud brothers, Pedro Pascal and Nicolás Balmaceda Pascal, cheered on her little sister. (The Pascals also have an older sister, Javier Balmaceda.)
Both Pedro and Lux shared photos of the day on their instagram stories. The “The Last of Us” actor shared a snapshot of her sister wearing her cap and gown and holding her caption along with five heart emojis. Meanwhile, the recent graduate posted a photo of herself standing between her two brothers and another of the trio of brothers posing with a woman at the event.
Pedro previously said that his “protective side is lethal” when it comes to his little sister, who came out as transgender in 2021. In an April interview with Donthe star of “The Mandalorian” discussed the challenges facing the trans community and how proud he is of his sister. “I wouldn’t want to speak on her behalf, but she is and always has been one of the most powerful people and personalities I have ever met,” she said. “My protective side is lethal, but I need her more than she needs me.”
Lux previously shared how her brother was supportive of her from the moment she came out as transgender. The aspiring actor publicly came out of the closet in a 2021 edition of the Spanish language already magazine. In his interview, she talked about how his family has been by his side throughout his journey.
“My transition has been very natural for everyone in my family,” said Lux. “It’s almost something they expected to happen.”
She then gave a special shout out to Pedro for the way he has always been there for her. “He is also an artist and he has served as a guide for me,” she explained. “He was one of the first people to gift me with the tools that began to shape my identity.”
Lux added that when he first told his older brother, he “asked me how I felt, because I remember he was a little worried.” As soon as she found out that her sister was happy, Pedro congratulated her. “Perfect, this is amazing,” he remembered her brother telling him.
