The APDC – Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications will hold, on the 9th and 10th of May, its 32nd edition of the Digital Business Congress, which will have as its theme “The Great Digital Tech Disruptions” and the former Minister of Economy , Pedro Siza Vieira, will be the President of the Digital Business Congress which, “due to its relevance for the economy and for the country, once again enjoys the High Sponsorship of the Presidency of the Republic”.

Pedro Siza Vieira succeeds names such as Paulo Portas, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, Luís Marques Mendes, Tiago Pitta e Cunha and Leonor Beleza.

This year, the major technological disruptions that are taking place and their impacts at an economic and social level will be at the center of the debate. It is intended to promote a debate with the players that mark the national and international agenda, as well as to have inspiring interventions that allow identifying paths for our common future.

Among the topics to be discussed will be changes in the financial system and the advancement of regulated digital currencies, the transformation of Public Administration, changes in the labor market and digital technologies.

“Artificial intelligence, 5G, automation, metaverse, tokenization, quantum computing, cybersecurity and cloud, among others, promise profound transformations in people, business, the public sector and governments, many of which are still impossible to anticipate. Added to this are the multiple interconnected challenges that the world continues to face, following the war in Europe, the geopolitical and geostrategic movements and the prospects for economic evolution, which are now much more pessimistic”, says the APDC.
