It's good to have a daughter who has already experienced the stress and fun of The Perfect Dinner (VOX). On Day 2 in Nuremberg, Liane, a 2012 participant, takes over her father's full coaching – including preparation instructions and an “Amigo” party.

Car mechanic and machine driver Bernhard has been retired for a year. According to himself, the 63-year-old native of Silesia has been cooking for the same amount of time, Martin (53) does not believe him at all: “He lies like a print.” However, Bernhard easily makes up for his lack of cooking experience – in the form of his daughter Liane.

The 34-year-old cooking enthusiast already applied for “The Perfect Dinner” in 2012 and landed in the middle of the field. His father was his assistant in cutting. Twelve years (and, according to Liane, “twelve kilos”) later, the tables are turned and the gardening fan, with Liane by his side, unbridledly devotes himself to his passion for the pumpkin.

Motto: The Pumpkin Trilogy

Appetizer: Hidden Pumpkin

Main course: wild pumpkin

Dessert: Cold pumpkin

“The marriage of flavors between pistachio and brownie”

And how effortlessly father and daughter harmonize together in the kitchen! Like two cogs, they cut the pumpkin, mash the potatoes and mix the sweetened condensed milk into bright orange pumpkin ice cream. Because Liane knows what makes her father perform at his best: “Kambad!” “Do you know who you are to me – the most beautiful woman in my life!” Bernhard walks through the same kitchen where he once met Liane. Dinner “assisted. She lets him and her dance moves do what they want, but also expresses her needs: “I think I need something to drink right now.”

It wasn't enough that she signed her dad up for the show, designed the menu with him, printed out instructional photos for the decorations, and drooled as much as she could. “Just leave the dirty dishes at my door,” the daughter and neighbor are ready to help even after the cooking is finished. What do the guests think about Liane's father coaching? Be generous: “It just makes him more likable,” says Sabrina, 28, commenting on Bernhard's obvious pride in his good daughter, who also has the same tattoo as he and his wife.

There is minimal criticism of Bernhard's menu – pumpkin-Parmesan ravioli with sage butter, venison saddle with pumpkin-mashed potatoes and fried brussels sprouts in an almond crust, and pumpkin ice cream with chocolate brownie. For Martin, the ravioli was “a little too floury,” and for Sabrina, the ice cream tasted “more toward condensation than pumpkin.” Jutta (46), on the other hand, stands for “marriage of taste”. pistachio and brownie.” Finally, Bernhard and Sabrina Guess 35 points: “She probably hasn't baked anything else in a year.”
