Prince William, 41, made another public appearance two days after briefly missing a memorial service for his Greek godfather Constantine II. The heir to the British throne attended an event at a London synagogue on Thursday. There, William participated in discussions about anti-Semitism in Britain and met Holocaust survivors. The royal opted for a navy blue suit for the occasion, accessorised with a matching tie and yarmulke.
Princess Kate will not leave empty-handed
William was originally due to visit the synagogue on International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27 – with his wife Princess Kate, 41. But a few days before her scheduled appearance, the Princess of Wales had to undergo abdominal surgery, from which she is currently recovering at home.
Kate was not present for Thursday's visit, but William mentioned her in a brief speech. “Anti-Semitism has no place in our society. (…) Catherine and I are very concerned about the growing anti-Semitism you talked about this morning, and I'm sorry if any of you have had to experience it,» said the prince.
In a particularly sweet gesture, the senior rabbi of the Lääne Marble Arch Synagogue gave Princess Kate a bouquet of flowers during William's visit.
