Remember Lizards Parodied Imagine Dragons On “SNL’

We’re certainly happy that the Canadian pop star Tate McRae arrived at her musical guest spot on Saturday Night Live This evening. Otherwise, we would have had to attend the backup musical guest. In this week’s Weekend Update SNLa duo called Remember Lizards proved to be this week’s backup musical guest.

Played by Andrew Dismukes and James Austin Johnson – whose chemistry was so simple they could probably moonlight as a musical duo – Remember Lizards was a lot like imagine Dragons.

When “Weekend Update” host Colin Jost asked Remember Lizards about their genre, the duo had a strangely specific answer.

“Inspiring kid-friendly hip-hop/arena rock with a pop-up twist,” the two said in unison.

Remember Lizards then sang one of their songs, which sounded a lot like the Dragons’ hit single, “Believer.” Jost called them out on their similarities, however, Remember Lizards assured them that their vibe was totally different.

“Their thing is positive arena rock, which is Christian and curious,” Johnson’s character said.

The Dismukes character added: “We make uplifting arena rock that is unapologetically Christian. »

The two performed another song, shouting “We love Jesus and lava.” Once again, the song sounded almost exactly like “Believer” by the Dragons.
