António Saraiva, president of the Confederação Empresarial de Portugal, lamented this Sunday the death of the entrepreneur and founder of Delta Cafés, Rui Nabeiro, considering him “a beacon” of the way “how to manage”.

Speaking to SIC Notícias, and in reaction to the disappearance of one of the biggest businessmen in the country, António Saraiva highlighted that Rui Nabeiro “leaves us an example of someone who led by example, with ethics, with values, with principles. Something that in this time, in which we live with disruptions and negative examples, was in fact a beacon of how to manage. He was an example for all of us.”

For António Saraiva, Rui Nabeiro “was a businessman who almost out of nothing created an empire that is today Delta, a brand of national and international recognition, with a commitment to the brand, in its evolution”.

The manager points out that “that permanent smile he had conveyed an inner peace, a happiness that was contagious. That is why it is an example not only for Delta employees and for the region in which it operates, but one that we must all follow. Portugal needs entrepreneurs who helped to develop the country”.

Businessman Rui Nabeiro, founder of Grupo Nabeiro – Delta Cafés, died today at the age of 91, a victim of illness, at Hospital da Luz, in Lisbon, a source for the group told Lusa.

“It is with deep regret that the Nabeiro family informs that, today, March 19, Commander Manuel Rui Azinhais Nabeiro, president and founder of Grupo Nabeiro – Delta Cafés”, can be read in a statement sent by the group.

Commander Rui Nabeiro “was hospitalized at Hospital da Luz, due to respiratory problems”, can be read in the same statement, sent by the Nabeiro Group.
