Diogo Silva was practically in the middle of writing his Master’s thesis in Computer Engineering at Nova School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) when he decided to apply for the PhD scholarship that opened the doors to Carnegie Mellon University.
“I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have access to professors from Carnegie Mellon University, considered one of the best universities in the world for computing and in particular in artificial intelligence for language, which is my research focus”, explains the 24-year-old to the Economic Journal.
