Skid followed by rollover on the A44 in Vila Nova de Gaia – Portugal

A man, about 40 years old, was injured, this Saturday afternoon, in an ostentatious skid, followed by an overturn of the car he was driving, on the A44, towards Ponte do Freixo – Vila Nova de Gaia, next to the El Corte Inglês junction. .

The alert was given at 17:02. The Firefighters of Coimbrões, the Volunteer Firefighters of Carvalhos and the GNR were at the rescue.

The driver of the vehicle, after being stabilized, was taken to the Hospital Eduardo Santos Silva, in Vila Nova de Gaia, with injuries considered minor.

The highway was closed to traffic for car removal and road cleaning. The causes of the skidding followed by overturning are now being investigated by the GNR who were on site.
