The Portuguese airline is expected to show profits of around 140 million euros for the year 2022, the best result ever, reveals the “Correio da Manhã” this wednesday. The decrease in the share of wages contributed to TAP’s accounts, as pilots started the year with a cut of 45%, which in the middle of the year dropped to 35%.

The publication recalls that the flag carrier presented a loss of 91 million euros in the first nine months of the year, but that between July and September it achieved profits of 111 million euros. In turn, the company’s total turnover in 2022 should have exceeded three billion euros.

TAP chose not to comment on the figures reported by “Correio da Manhã” and indicated that the “results will be presented in due course”, next March. The news that reports record profits comes out on the eve of the discussion of the commission of inquiry that will analyze the management of the company by the political guardianship.
