Ted Cruz tried to make a joke again about his debacle in Cancun

Two years have passed since Ted Cruz ditched its icy components for a sunny trip to Cancun. It may be the most remarkable thing he has ever done in his life. Every time the senator from Texas does something that might even slightly spark a Cancun joke, social networks take the bait. occasionally he makes a joke about it, in an attempt to show that he has a sense of humor. It rarely works out, as his latest attempt attests.

On Friday, Cruz took to Twitter to post a photo of himself in Midland, Texas. There he came across a restaurant called Cancún Grill. Har har. So he took a picture of himself standing by the neon sign, a big smile on his face, once again trying to prove that he’s a good sport in that moment when he fled his estate during a freak winter storm, he came running back after a massive backlash, then blamed it all on his daughters.

Cruz is not known for his sense of humor and this latest barrage of jokes did not go down well.

Just as a reminder, the event Cruz jokes about occurred in mid-to-late February 2021, when a severe winter storm caused the worst power infrastructure collapse in Texas history. There were power outages throughout the state. Nearly 250 people died, though some estimates go as high as 700. As his constituencies froze and/or lacked drinking water, Cruz was seen at an airport bound for the Mexican vacation spot. The reaction was harsh, but it didn’t stop him from continuing to behave like Ted Cruz.
