chrono trigger it made a huge impact when it debuted in 1995. Nearly 30 years later, we’re still seeing why. sea of stars is a heartfelt homage to Square JRPG and, like many games in the genre, wears its inspiration on its sleeve. The distinction here, however, is that sea of stars it’s fucking beautiful. The 2D pixel art is absolutely gorgeous, making for some of the most striking visuals we’ve seen in the genre in years.—DN
